Frequently Asked Questions

Answers on tint, protection, Oregon law and how appointments work at Rosie’s.

Window Tint

Ceramic vs. carbon — what’s the difference?
Carbon offers a great matte look with solid UV protection at a friendly price. Ceramic uses advanced particles for superior heat rejection and clarity without interfering with signals. We’ll walk you through both.
How long does tint installation take?
Roughly 2–3 hours for two front windows and 4–6 hours for a full vehicle.
How long before I can roll my windows down?
Fresh tint needs a few days to cure — keep windows up while the film sets. We’ll give you exact aftercare guidance based on your film and the weather.

Oregon Tint Laws

Is my tint legal in Oregon?
Oregon generally requires at least 35% total light transmission (VLT) on regulated windows — film plus glass must let through at least that much light. Rules vary by window and vehicle type. This isn’t legal advice, but we’ll help you choose a compliant film.
Can you do a windshield strip?
Yes — windshield strips and other options are available. We’ll recommend what looks good and keeps you compliant.

Paint Protection Film

What does PPF cover?
PPF can protect high-impact areas or the full vehicle. Popular options include full front (bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors), leading edges, and door defense — cup, edge and sill guards.
How long does a PPF install take?
Anywhere from about a day up to a week depending on coverage. One vehicle at a time, done right.

Ceramic Coating

How long does ceramic coating last?
We offer tiered packages — Silver, Gold and Platinum — with longer-lasting protection at each level. Maintenance packages help keep it performing its best.
How long does the coating take?
Typically 1–2 days including prep and cure time.

Tint Removal

Why does old tint turn purple?
Low-quality dyed films fade to purple under UV. Premium carbon and ceramic films resist this.
Will removal damage my defroster lines?
Not with the right technique. Our careful process is designed to protect rear-window defroster lines and your glass.

Appointments

Is a deposit required?
Yes — a deposit secures all appointments. We work on one car at a time, so booking ahead reserves your spot.
How far ahead should I book?
Appointments fill up, so booking ahead is recommended. Reach out for current availability.

Aftercare

How do I care for fresh tint?
Keep windows up for a few days while the film cures and avoid harsh cleaners initially. We’ll give you specific aftercare guidance at pickup.
How do I maintain a ceramic coating?
Regular gentle washing keeps it performing. Ask about maintenance packages to extend the life of your coating.

Pickup & Drop-off

Do you offer pickup and drop-off?
We offer early drop-off and late pickup for convenience. Seasonal pickup and delivery within Jackson County is available for an additional fee — just ask when you book.
